No Expert Here

So last night we played Guitar Hero for the first time with Courtney, Scott, Hilary, and Bryan. IT WAS SO MUCH FUN! Now I really want to buy a Wii for Kevin and Jacob so I can play Guitar Hero. I was awesome at it! I was a natural from the start....ok I'll be honest I totally sucked! I'm sorry I don't like using that word too much but that is the best word to describe my guitar skills. I do have to say though I did get better as the night went on and I got a 26 note streak and a 76% (for those of you who have played before you will know what that means). Anyway, I have to say that I am a fan and I see why people love this game so much. Thanks Hilary and Bryan for bringing it over...maybe be we can babysit it for you when you go out of town this summer we won't even charge you a boarding fee.

Scott, Courtney, Me, and Hilary
(I don't know why we didn't get any pics of Bryan)

Kevin rocking out!

Two Home Runs!!!

Just wanted to share some cute pictures of the cutest kid on earth. Jacob hit two home runs Tuesday during his baseball game. Here he is batting and then running across home plate. He is having so much fun playing baseball and we are having just as much fun watching him.

Cleaning Your Room Is Fun To Do

I was sweeping the kitchen a little bit ago and Jacob comes in wearing Kevin's flip flops, he said he was putting them away. I responded with oh are you cleaning up your bedroom without me even asking. (Kevin always leaves his shoes in there at night when he reads to Jacob and Jacob usually doesn't want to pick them up because daddy left them there he says.) Jacob responded with well I'm not done yet. I don't know if he was planning on cleaning or my question gave him the idea but whatever it was I was happy that he was cleaning his room. He made his bed and put everything away...he even put the books in the book closet! This was a pretty amazing experience for me. He then said that he needed to organize his closet but because it was getting late I told him that would have to wait until tomorrow. He then said to me mom I'm going to help by cleaning up more! Yay for him! I love it when he says sweet things like this. If you remember back a few months ago he had a new philosophy one day similar to this one and he said that he liked to listen to me and he was going to listen the first time (it was something along those lines). Well that pretty much crashed and burned within a day or two. Let's hope his new cleaning philosophy lasts a little longer.

Pretty Fancy Eh?

Thanks Kevin for my Mother's Day gift a day early. I got new workout shoes, yay!!! But not just any workout shoes some really nice ones. I went to a place called The Runner (thanks Koenigs) and they look how you stand and walk and the nice girl (who I found out at the checkout is LDS and in the 3rd Ward...she saw my CTR ring) helped me to find the right shoes. I over pronate (I'm not sure how to spell that) which means my feet turn in too much so I needed extra support. Can I just say I cannot wait to go and work out on Monday! I think with new shoes it will give me a boost. I'm going to need a boost my mom paid for 5 more sessions with Nathan the personal trainer at 24 hr...thanks mom! He said he is going to work me even harder then last time. I don't know if that is possible seeing as I almost cried last time.

The End To A Busy Week

I'm glad to say that it is the weekend! This past week was crazy busy. It was teacher appreciation week and because I am the PTA board member over teacher appreciation I had a lot to do. It was a lot of fun though and I am looking forward to doing it again next year. Only 4 more weeks of school!!! We still have a 3 day weekend and then the last week of school Thu. and Fri. are half days so that helps those two weeks seem shorter. The last day of school is June 6th and we leave on the 10th for California and return on the 18th and then Jeramie and Leslie (Kev's older brother and his wife) are coming to stay with us on the 19th until the 22nd because Kevin's mom is getting married on the 21st. I'm thinking that June is going to fly by! Well it's almost time to leave for Jacob's baseball game. Happy Mother's Day to all you mom's out there...you are all amazing!

A Great Day

Yesterday was a beautiful day so we loaded up the bikes to drove over to Craven's Park. It is just around the corner but for one part there is no side walk and I didn't want to do that with Jacob. The park has a great trail system that goes on for several miles. We went for about 1.5 miles or so and then came back. Jacob was having a great time he told me that he loved bike riding and he was so glad that we had come. Then my sister Olya saw a big uprooted tree and said hey let's stop and see it and so she stopped immediately. Jacob was right behind her and I was right behind him. He ran into her and fell hard and then I ran right over his right arm. He ended up being ok but I was a little (ok lets be honest I started to freak out then realized I had to be calm) worried. He scratched up his knee pretty bad and you can see the tire marks on his arm from me. I felt like a horrible mom but I pulled on my brakes and it all happened so fast. It was probably better that I ran over his arm rather then falling on top of him. He was pretty shaken up but after a few minutes he got back up and was ready to go (with a lot of encouragement from us). Even with that it was still fun. Jacob wanted to have stick races he thinks that is so much fun. There are a few places along the trail where the water from the creek goes under the sidewalk through drainage holes so we would stand on one side and throw our sticks in and then go to the other side and see whose stick would come out first, kids are so easily amused! It was nice to be outside and enjoy a family bike ride.
Last night my sisters asked if they could spend the night...sure. Well the two of them ended up being four girls because they wanted two friends to come along. We don't mind, I'm glad they like coming over here and having fun. Well all four girls were out back on the trampoline and Jacob was feeling a little sad because he was not feeling up to jumping with his bum knee and he wanted to be having fun with the girls. So Kevin asked me to fill up Jacob's super soaker that Grandma Quinn bought him for his birthday and have him go and soak the girls. Jacob was so on board with this. His sadness soon turned to total excitement. I stood outside ready to record their reaction. At first they had no idea he had a water gun when he got up on the trampoline and then they all started screaming and running. Jacob thought it was great! I took a video and if you are wondering what Jacob is wearing he has on one of Kevin's shirts with his head and one arm through the head hole and one arm in an arm hole. He said he was being a cave man. Really the video is so dark you can't see anything (when I was taking it you could see more but the video came out too dark) but at least you can hear the girls screaming and here all of the action...sorry about my obnoxious laugh it was so much fun to watch!
I went to bed at midnight and the girls were still having a ton of fun, who knows what time they went to bed but they are all still sleeping. When I woke up this morning there was evidence of pizza eating and koolaid drinking all over my kitchen :)

Family History

Last night was the adult session of Stake Conference. We learned about the new Family Search website for doing genealogy. It was an awesome meeting and it really inspired me to continue my family history. In December Kevin and I went to the temple to do work for some of my ancestors, it was an amazing experience. I have always been some what frustrated with not being able to find many people with the name of Frainee when I do family history. Well I logged onto the new website at www.new.familysearch.org and it is a really easy program and I saw new Frainee names that I had never seen before, I can't wait to get started on trying to figure out where they all fit. I feel like my ancestors are depending on me. I am the only member of the church on my dad's side of the family. I took a family history class at Ricks and I have had two family history callings I really think my ancestors are waiting for me and I don't want to make them wait anymore. Last year after Breanna died I felt a great push to continue my family history I felt like I had an extra helper on the other side. I am thankful for President Hinckley's inspiration in starting this new program and I am excited to be a part of it.

An Update Finally!!!

Wow I have been busy! Instead of typing a lot I thought I would post some pictures of what I've been up to, so here goes.
I was able to go on a field trip with Jacob to Lowe's Farm. His teacher was not able to go so I was his substitute for the day and they got a sub for my class. We had a lot of fun!

They got to pet several of the animals.

Charlotte the pig!

They washed clothes like they did in the "olden days."

Jacob's 7th Birthday
Nintendo Theme

He had no idea that he was getting a trampoline.
Kevin, Scott, Olya, and Ala put it together Friday night while Jacob and I went shopping. He woke up Saturday morning and he was SO excited when he went out back.

All the boys with their mustaches. They were so cute. If you look close Max's (back row second from the left) is on upside down, it was too cute!

OK...shark pinata for a Nintendo theme birthday. Nobody makes Nintendo theme anything for birthdays basically I had to make everything myself. So I printed a ton of pictures off of google images and made stickers for everyone and put stickers all over the table cloth. The kids went on a gold coin hunt and they decorated mushroom cupcakes. I told Jacob he could pick out any pinata and that is the one he chose.

The BIG 7!

Decorating their cupcakes.

Some fun on the trampoline.

Wendy, Dave, and Kevin.

My nephew Ethan.

Red Raider Baseball

Today was Jacob's first baseball game of the season. This year he is playing coach pitch which he likes a lot more then t-ball. Their team is the Texas Tech Red Raiders. My mom, Kevin, and I had so much fun watching him play. Way to go Jacob!
Taking some pictures at home before the game.

Getting ready to hit...hitting...running to first base.

Waiting for a hit and then running home.
Playing first baseman.

Here's to you Hil...

OK so I haven't blogged in about a week, very unlike me, that just means I am too busy! Too busy for blogging... it shouldn't be. This was the last week of the 6 weeks and I had so much grading to do. I'm glad that is over.
Let's see what happened this week? Last night we hung out with some really amazing friends (he he he). I'm always up for some good adult interaction. I love you guys!
OK so we registered Jacob for coach pitch baseball back in the beginning of March. When Kevin came home the receipt said T-ball. So I called the YMCA and asked them to change it and the girl said yes. So he is put on a team and I talk to the coach and he decides to have practices on Sunday. Well obviously that would not work. So I email the Y and ask that he be switched. They switch him and I talk with his new coach, find out when practices are, and go and buy gray pants, black socks, and a black belt. Those are the colors they decide on. Well I get an email from the coach and in the subject line it says T-ball, what??? So I call the YMCA, ya he was never switched. The original team he was on, the ones that practiced on Sunday, and this new team were both T-ball teams. Keep in mind I figure this out on Monday. His first game is today. So I'm worried about them getting him on a team. I assure Jacob that he will be playing baseball. Well all of the coach pitch teams are full so they put us on a team with a new coach who probably wouldn't mind as much that he has an extra player. It all ended up working out. We missed the first 5 practices but went to the one on Thursday and the coach was great and Jacob had so much fun. He is really looking forward to his game today. This team though is wearing white pants, red socks, and a red belt. So back to Academy I went to exchange everything. O'well it all worked out in the end and Jacob can't wait until 3 pm for his game today. You know I'll be posting pictures!
This whole working full time thing has caused me to not be so anal about my house being clean because there just is not the time to keep it how I prefer to have it. I love a clean house but I am having to learn to love a semi-clean house.
Jacob's birthday party is next week and I'm not sure how many of the kids will be able to come. So many are playing different sports and they have games. He is way excited though. Kevin and Scott (right Scott???) are putting up his trampoline on Friday without him knowing. He is going to be way excited, at least I hope so, he and Kevin really want a Wii. I would rather him have the trampoline. The Wii can come later, it's not like he doesn't have a DS and a Game Cube. The theme for the party is Nintendo. It is definitely hard to find stuff. Most of it you have to buy off of ebay because regular party stores do not sell Nintendo birthday stuff. I really think that they should if my opinion means anything to them.
We got our plane tickets for our summer trip to Las Vegas and California. We are way excited!!! I still can't believe my little brother is graduating high school. These kinds of things make me feel old and make me wonder how time goes by so fast.
Well I guess that is all for now. Hil and Court this was probably boring to you I've told you all of this stuff this week but I posted finally :) I hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

I'm Super Sore!

Well my personal trainer officially kicked my butt! I really enjoyed it though, is that ok? The worst part was when he stretched my hamstrings at the end I had tears in my eyes it hurt so bad. I am very sore today! I go back on Tuesday for some more (thanks mom!). I think she just wanted me to be in pain with her that is why she signed me up.

OK last night was Hilary's surprise birthday party. She was truly surprised! It was so fun to see her walk in and see us all there. Early in the day I talked to her on the phone but didn't say happy birthday because I didn't feel like I could say it normal and her not think something is up so I just didn't say anything at all. I felt bad not telling one of my closest friends happy birthday. I would have for sure at least sang to her (because we all know how beautiful I sing). Anyway, we all laughed until our cheeks hurt or until we had to go potty. We had a blast and played some really fun games. I'm going to be a dork (blog stealer) and put a link to Hilary's blog so you can see how much fun we had. I love you Hil! Happy Birthday...you're the best!

A Little Catch Up

I can't believe how fast this week has gone, it helps that there is no school tomorrow. Tuesday Kevin, Jacob, and I went to the Mavericks game. BJ (my brother) gave us tickets, he gets season tickets, and we had a blast. It was Jacob's first time going and he thought it was so cool. We rode the train out there which is so nice it drops you off right in front of the American Airlines Center. Kevin and I had so much fun just watching Jacob. He got really into the game with cheering and yelling. He was also so excited to stay up way past his bed time. He has been wearing a watch lately because they are learning how to tell time in school so now he likes wearing his watch. When we got on the train to go home he said, "it is 10:15, 2 hours past my bedtime." He was so proud to be staying up so late. The Mavericks won which made the night even better. Thanks Uncle BJ for the tickets!!!

My sweet Mom paid for 2 one hours personal trainer sessions at 24 Hr. My first one is in the morning at 9:30. I'm excited...I think. My Mom and I are then going to a Latin Spice Workout class at 10:30, I will be so sore by Saturday just in time for the athletic training class.

I've been stressing (just a little) about this Sunday it will be our first Sunday as the new ward and I am short about 5 teachers, a chorister, and a nursery leader. I'm sure it will all work out...I will be calling people tomorrow to sub the various classes, thanks Court for already volunteering! I'm really looking forward to meeting all the new kids.

The seats were pretty high up but you
could still see really well and Jacob didn't seem
to mind one bit. Kevin and I have sat 4th
row twice which I have to say is really cool too.

Girls night out was last Saturday.
We had a lot of fun, I LOVE MY FRIENDS!

Yoga was hard!!! I am so sore today but I'm not sure if it is from yoga or if it is from working out in general. About 5 min. into the class I looked at my mom with tears in my eyes and said I don't know if I can do this. Mostly I was scared about my back, some of the twisting I opted out of for fear that I would hear a pop and I would be on the couch for another week. After it was done a really nice lady came up to us, knowing that it was our first time, and said that this was the hardest that yoga gets. I was like how did I manage to pick the hardest class. That made me feel better and I think I will try again but with another instructor. I am going to try an aqua class and a athletic training class this week it should be fun.

I am totally loving the weather and I think it should be this beautiful year round. We went for a walk today between conferences an it was so nice out. I love this time of year!

I was looking online today to see how much it is to get into Disneyland. Hello...it is $56 for Jacob and $66 each for Kev and I. What??? Like Disney needs to charge that much. It will cost us $188 just to get into the park this summer not to mention all of the other money you spend while there. Wow! We are going to California in June for my brother Derrick's high school graduation. We thought we would make it our family vacation for the summer. While we are there we want to take Jacob to Disneyland. It was between Disneyland and Sea World (he has been to both but does not remember Disneyland because he was too young) and he chose Disneyland, that's what I was hoping he would choose. There is a Sea World in San Antonio that we could go to another time, plus we went to Sea World last summer. Anyways, we are really looking forward to our trip! We are going to fly into Las Vegas and stay for a night and visit Kev's dad. Then we will rent a car and drive to my dad's house which is about 3 1/2 hours (we made that drive many times in the 6 years we lived in Vegas). We will fly home from California. We are just buying one way tickets so that we don't have to rent a car and drive back to Vegas to fly home. After rental and gas it actually ends up being a little cheaper to do it that way. It will be nice to see Kevin's dad and a few friends while we are in Vegas.

Well I'm off to watch a little TV and then to bed. Only 9 more weeks of school!!! Not that I'm counting.

My Sweet Little Boy

I just had to share about our experience today when we went to Breanna's grave. When we got there we noticed the vase was gone. I was really concerned but right below her spot there was a brand new burial so I figured they had just taken it out for that funeral. We went to the office and the lady told us that they turn them upside down for funerals and they just had not turned it back over yet. That made me feel much better. So we went back and figured it out and all was well. Jacob put the flowers in the vase. This is where he melted my heart...he asked if we could say a prayer and we said yes. He said OK lets kneel down. So the three of us knelt down next to her grave and Jacob said the sweetest prayer. He asked Heavenly Father to watch over Breanna in heaven (which he does often in our prayers at home) and he asked for all the babies in baby land (the part of the cemetery where Breanna is buried is just for babies and children and it is called Baby Land) to be safe as well. Of course that made his mommy and daddy cry. It was just the sweetest prayer and he thought of it all on his own. I told him that Breanna was very blessed to have him for a big brother. I am truly thankful for Jacob and his sweet spirit. I am thankful that although he is so young that he realizes that he has a sister and that we will be with her one day. We are truly blessed to be his parents.

9 am Yoga???

OK my mom and I are going to a yoga class this morning at 24 hr. I have never taken a yoga class but I have been wanting to try it, wish me luck!

Yesterday before school Jacob asked if we could take new flowers to Breanna's grave. I have been wanting to go for the last couple of weeks and it was so sweet how he suggested that we go. So today between watching conferences we are going to the cemetery, it is out in the country and I love how beautiful it is out there. When we went to JoAnn's last night Jacob picked out Daisy's for her in all different colors (her marker has a vase on it for flowers). It will be nice to go today.

Tonight is GNO at Sweet Tomatoes! I love me some Sweet Tomatoes! I always have so much fun hanging out with my friends. Monday morning is the biggest loser weigh in for the school though, I need to not eat too much there. After all is is a salad bar, but they have pasta, bread, soup, and so much more. I have lost 19 lbs. so far. My goal is to lose 31 more by June 23rd. After that I will set a new goal and continue. Doing it in parts seems to be a little easier then all at once. I am doing the biggest loser with a group from school and a group from church. I plan on winning both of them and getting a nice chunk of change in June!

I hope you all have a great weekend, love ya!!!

Pity party is over!

Thank you to all who listened to me complain yesterday and especially thank you to all of your kind comments, you guys are all great! I am feeling much better today. I got back to the gym today (my doctor told me to stay away until my back was better) and that was a great help. I burned 600 calories!!! That makes me super happy. I asked for help today with teacher appreciation week and now I feel better about that. I sent home progress reports home today, so check on that one too. I did the dishes while watching AI, check. I am now looking online for a good workout routine. I have just been doing the treadmill and elliptical and I know that will get boring. I was doing my arms before I hurt my back. I would like to mix it up a little so that I will see more results. So if anyone has tips or knows of a good website let me know. Well I think I'm officially tired. I'm going to go run my iRobot (Rosie) in the kitchen, I LOVE that vacuum, it does all the work for me, what could be better.

I am having a pity party...all are invited to join!

OK...I'm totally stressed out and all I want to do is cry! Oh boo hoo poor me! Do you ever just have those days? Well today and yesterday too has been like that for me. I feel like I have too much to do and not enough time to do it all. I really am questioning if I made the right choice in subbing this class full time until the end of the year, I want OCS back! Life in OCS was soooo easy! I now have lesson plans, grading, progress reports, and everything else that goes along with being a full time teacher and I feel like I can't keep my head above water. There will be a lot of changes in Primary with the new Stake boundaries and that is going to take a lot of time. I am still on my medication from my back and for some reason I ran out of the steroids early. I was 10 pills short, I'm supposed to take 4 pills for 4 days, 3 pills for 3 days and so on until I have 1 pill for 1 day. Well I didn't have 3 to take today I only had 1. With all that I have going on I didn't think about it. So I go to my mom's tonight and she is like you can't just stop taking those types of pills you can have a heart attack. Ya right mom, no she was serious. So I call the pharmacy and explain my situation and they must have agreed because without much questioning they said that they have the 10 pills I am short waiting and I can come and pick them up. So at least I won't be dying of a heart attack tonight I took my 3 pills for the day, one less stress I guess. Need I go on? Yes...maybe it will make me feel better. The first week of May is Teacher Appreciation week. I am in charge of that (wait, shouldn't I be being appreciated???) of course I took this on long before I agreed to sub full time. So I'm not quite sure how all of that is going to work out. I need to figure it out ASAP and ask for some help, there is no way I can do a teacher luncheon and the other things that go on that week all by myself. Now to my house, it is a disaster and my kitchen is nasty and Jacob has no clean pants for tomorrow (he would if every pair of jeans he owns did not have holes in the knees). Blah blah blah....I've now vented sufficiently I must go do dishes and laundry. Thanks to my sweet husband who, while busy at work, listened to me cry/complain/vent on the phone. If you are wondering if it is that time of the month for me the answer is...YES that just means that I feel bloated and I'm not pregnant and I'm extra moody. I've always thought I wasn't that moody while I was on my period I guess I am now! OK I must go Jacob just got out of the shower and is asking for clean underwear. I know that there are some wet ones in the dryer but that's it, hopefully there is a clean pair in the pile of clean clothes on my bed. I hope that last part was not too much information for those reading...I'm debating whether to erase it or not (the part about the period not the underwear). OK there are officially no clean underwear for Jacob he just pulled a wet pair out of the dryer good thing he doesn't seem to mind.
