New Look
I'm so tired and I should be in bed but here is my new blog template. I have a lot to add back because I lost it with the change. I'll try to fit that it in the next couple of days. Thanks to Hilary Keegan for the new look, you're awesome!
Pictures from the last couple of weeks.

This is Jacob flying his
kite at the Primary
Activity we had last weekend.

Leaving carrots for the Easter Bunny.
Jacob wanted to leave them in a smiley
face shape :)
Our Easter Bunny likes to hide Jacob's basket. He decided to hide it in the trash can (with a clean bag) this year. Jacob thought this was hilarious and told everyone about it.

Jacob had fun spraying his dad with the silly string
that he got in his Easter basket.
that he got in his Easter basket.

Here is the low down on my week...
I woke up Monday morning after a nice relaxing Spring Break. I was in the shower and bent down and that was all it took. I felt my back go out and then I was like oh no this is not good. I finished getting ready for school in pain. I went in early, about 7:30, so I could get the day going and get my lesson plans ready for whoever was coming in. Now me being the sub needed a sub. I was there until about 9:30 I was debating whether I should stay or not. Knowing what I do now it is good that I did not stay. The pain in my back just got worse through out the day. Finally around 3:30 my mom took me to the ER. My regular doctor could not see me until Wednesday but the pain was so bad I needed some drugs bad!!! I got off the couch when my mom got to my house and I went in to my room to get some pants on and I had a back spasm. I ended up on the floor because that is the only way I could get the pain to go was to lay down. The problem was I then had to get back up. Imagine with me for a moment if you would...me like 2 times bigger then my mom and her trying her best to put pants on me and help me off the floor. It was so sad but almost funny at the same time. About 30 min. later we were in the car on the way to the ER when I had another spasm. I'm screaming and my mom is trying to drive. Once we got to the ER I told them that I can't sit strait up I have to lay down. They didn't have any beds available my mom told them they needed to find one because I can't sit. They found one and brought the bed out to the car and I got in it and they wheeled me into the ER. Hey at least I didn't have to wait in the waiting room we got right in. By this time Kevin had met us at the hospital. The ER doc was a total jerk and did not have an ounce of compassion in his body. He came in and was like, "what is your problem." Anyway, he wrote me a prescription for what he said would be a pain pill and a muscle relaxer and was going to send me on my way. I told him that I could not get off the bed unless he gave me something. He gave me a vicodin and I was able to get up and go home. I went to my mom's because we were all planning on having dinner over there so I figured I would just lay on her couch. Well after laying there for a few hours I really had to go to the bathroom. This was a problem because I could literally NOT get up from the couch the pain was so bad. The doctor had actually only given me 2 pain medications and not a muscle relaxer. Kevin and Papa (my step dad) had to go up to the hospital and get another prescription. The doctor was like well what do you want, Kevin was thinking I don't know you are the doctor. I think he thought I just wanted some drugs. During this time my mom and my friend Sandi were trying to help me get up to go to the bathroom. For those of you who do not know I can't go potty if I am not sitting on a toilet. I guess there is a medical term for this I'm not sure what it is called. So my mom and Sandi had some "great" ideas to try to get me to go to the bathroom while I was on the couch. The first step was for them to take off my pants. Remember they could do anything they wanted and I would not have been able to stop them. They put a bowl off the side of the couch and had me hang over it and try to go. They took the couch cushion out from under my bottom and put Tupperware under me and told me to go. Sandi had my hands in warm water and was pushing on my bladder. None of this was working. Then my mom decided she would duct tape a freezer bag to me and let me go. I begged her not to do that because then we would have another set of problems after she removed the duct tape. This went on for a while and finally my medications kicked in enough for them to help me up. They finally got me up and I'm standing there with no pants on as they are supporting me while I walk to the bathroom. I sat down and I was so thankful to finally be able to go potty. Good times! The whole time I was laughing because it was all so funny but it hurt to laugh. My mom is trying to give me words of comfort and I was like please just shut up. She was making me laugh so hard! I finally got to see my doctor on Wednesday and he gave me a shot and some magic pills. He told me that what the ER doctor had given me was pretty much a waist. So now I am on Steroids, Hydrocodone, and anti inflammatories. He thinks that I have some swelling in my back and it is pinching a nerve. Fun fun fun! Well that's that I am feeling much better and I am glad to be back to almost normal. I still have some pain but nothing compared to what it was.
We had a great Easter and a great Spring Break! I can't wait until summer when we can hang out and not have a schedule. We are going to get a pool pass and hang out out the pool all summer. Jacob starts baseball in a couple of weeks and he is really excited about that. Our Stake boundaries got reorganized today and we are not in my parents ward anymore which is so weird because they live so close. I am excited about the new changes though. Kevin will be busy this week helping the Bishop get everything going for the new ward. It is starting to warm up and I think I am going to have to turn the air on this week which makes me sad. I really do not want to pay a high electricity bill. I guess that is about it for now. Thanks for reading my long blog!

Arlington Municipal Airport
We went to playgroup yesterday. We haven't done that in a long time because Jacob is in school. So it was nice to go and hang out with all of my friends yesterday. The kids loved the airport and thought the planes were really cool. Afterwards we went to McDonald's. Kevin came with us (there was one other dad there, thanks Stephen!) and we were there for about 3 1/2 hours talking with everyone while the kids played. It was pouring down rain all day! I'm really enjoying Spring Break. I have been sleeping in to about 8, yay for me!

Where Have You Been All Of My Life?
Some of you may already have an iPod but I just got one today and I love it! They have lowered the price to $49 for the Shuffle. I have been on the computer for a couple of hours downloading music! I can't wait to go workout tomorrow so that I can use my iPod. I have been putting music on it that I think will motivate me while I'm working out. I am officially addicted to iTunes.Sunday, March 16, 2008
Some Fun Pictures
Hilary, Brittany, Me, and CourtneyWe drove out to Frisco for Britt's surprise
birthday party tonight. Actually it was not
much of a surprise Ally, who threw the party,
let it slip. It was still tons of fun! Thanks
Ally for hosting the party. When the four
of us get together you never know what will
happen. We laughed so much tonight! I love
my girls. By the way in the picture below if
it looks like Court has a tattoo on her arm,
she does not (I still love my friends with tats,
you know who you are, some of you have
them in private areas even, he he he!)
She ran a triathlon yesterday and they wrote
numbers on her arms and legs.
She is amazing I am so proud of her!

Last week we had a dusting of snow. Not toomuch, not even enough to delay school, but
I guess some is better then none. Two days
before this it was like 80 degrees but
that is Texas for you.

Cute kid right? Well look a little closer nowhe is a cute kid with a round mark on his head!
He has this little suction cup toy that you put on
the table and it pops up, well he thought it would
be a good idea to suction it to his head (thanks
mom for giving it to him). Needless to say he
has had this mark for several days it is beginning
to fade though. He never ceases to amaze me!

My Crazy Busy Week!
Here is a run down if you care to read it might be a little lengthy! I started teaching 2nd grade on Monday. Thankfully my class is really well behaved and there is only 16 of them. The other 2nd grade teachers are amazing and have really helped me. Open house was on Thursday and I had so much to do to get ready for it. The room was a mess! I spent about 3 1/2 hours cleaning and organizing. I packed about 6 boxes of stuff for them to take out of the room. It is now organized and clean and open house is done so I feel like I can really concentrate on teaching the kids. I have been so tired this week. I was at school from 7:45 until 7:30 on Thursday, I was exhausted! It stinks that my pay does not go up because I'm still a long term sub like I was in OCS. The kids really needed some consistency though so I'm really doing it for them. I am enjoying it and I know that teaching is what I love. The other teachers at school ask me why I don't finish and become a full time teacher. I am planning on finishing my degree. I am just waiting for Ricks, ok BYU Idaho, to have their online general degree. After I get that I will certify in the state of Texas. I told them though that my intention is to really just sub a few days a week and that I want to stay home and have more babies. I think some of them think I'm crazy! I have a hard time saying no I think that is why I have been subbing full time this year. Now that the school knows me so well, and for some reason they like me a lot, they keep me busy. This week is Spring Break so I am looking forward to relaxing.
Mav's Game
Last night we went to the Mavericks game with the tickets we won at the silent auction. We went with the Edward's and it was so much fun!!! We had platinum parking...that just means that we didn't have to pay and our car was right across the street from our entrance. The package also included free buffet at the Platinum Club. It was so good! The food was amazing. For the last two weeks I have been eating so good knowing that I would be pigging out last night. I think I had about 3 full plates of food ok maybe 2 and a half, I was stuffed afterwards!!! We didn't realize how good our seats were. After we were done eating we went to our seats and they were 4th row!!! Of course I forgot my camera and had to take pictures with my cell phone but the problem is I don't know where the cord is to plug into my camera to get the pictures off of it if I ever find it I will post some cool pics. There is new guy on the Mav's team named Lue. Robin went to High School with him and her brother played basketball with him. Robin yelled his name as loud as she could, this was his first home game and nobody knows who he is, after the 3rd yell he looked at her and then she yelled "Raytown" (where they are from and the name of their HS) he looked up and smiled and put his hand out. The very next basket that he made he looked at Robin and pointed. She was so excited!!! I think the people around us were like who is this girl yelling? Anyway it was a lot of fun being so close. After the first period we went back up to the Platinum Club, we had on special wristbands that gave us access, and we ate dessert YUMMY! We took 2 hot dogs with us to our seats but we never ate them because we were too full. It was all you can eat so we thought why not. Needless to say it was a great night and it was definitely worth the $65 that we paid for it! The Mav's one too. One more thing, this is crazy, after the game when we got back to the Edward's car it was turned around. Chris had pulled in forward and when we got back to the car it had been backed it. We all looked at it and were like what??? Chris was like this is my car...we have no idea how his car got turned around he had the keys the whole time. It was a really weird we figured it was just part of the Platinum Package!
P.S. I have no desire to eat today food sounds gross I'm a little queasy. When you are not used to eating like I did last night it does a number on your stomach.

GNO
Girls night out was so much fun last night. We went to On The border for Tiffany's last GNO with us, she is moving to Las Vegas. I'm excited for her (I will miss her though) because she will be closer to her family. There were 10 of us there and the conversation was NEVER dull! I hope the little girl next to us did not go home asking questions to her mother, yikes! Suzy gave us all "Flavor Flav" names. Her and Tiffany racked their brains all week to come up with them, it was so funny! I always have a blast with my friends. I love you guys!

2nd Grade Here I Come!!!
Today the AP asked to speak with me, uh oh... what did I do? She asked me to sub in one of the 2nd grade classes until the end of the year (57 more days). I told her that I would do anything that she needed me to do. She still had to talk to the principal to see if they wanted to keep me in OCS or if they could get someone to replace me. A few minutes later she said, "you start on Monday." I went to the principal and told her, "you were supposed to say that you need me to stay in OCS." She laughed and said, "I'm sorry you didn't tell me in time." Of course I was just kidding, and her too. So I start on Monday!!! I'm actually really excited. The teacher for this class in on maternity leave until the end of the year and the sub that was supposed to take the long term assignment did not work out. Then they had a sub in there for this week and she does not want to do it until the end of the year. See originally I was going to do a 6 week leave for another teacher but they wanted to keep me in OCS, plus I think technically if you are going to be out for more then 6 weeks you are supposed to have a certified teacher. The kids in this 2nd grade class of had so many different teachers in the last few weeks and no consistency. I talked to the 2nd grade team leader (who I hope is Jacob's teacher next year) and she is really excited, me too. It will be a lot of work. The 4 week job I had at the beginning of the year was easy because she had all of the lesson plans and all of the work copied and ready to go for me. This will not be like that at all, I will have to do lesson plans and grading, the real deal! Wish me luck, better yet say a prayer for me. Well I'm off to work out and then to speak at a Baptism.
It finally came out!
2 weeks after Jacob discovered he had his first loose tooth it finally came out. Kev and I convinced him that if he would just let me pull it out it wouldn't hurt too much. After thinking about it and going back and forth he decided to give it a go. On the third try I pulled it out. He was surprised that it did not hurt and was so excited that it was out. Here are Jacob's thoughts on the toothy fairy, "mom, I think the tooth fairy is your parents." I then asked him why he thought this, I asked him if he had heard it at school. He said, "no I've just been thinking about it and I think that's how it works." I lied to him and assured him that there is a tooth fairy (I want him to have fun with at for at least a couple of teeth) and that it was not me and dad who left him money. He seemed to believe me, for now at least.

Yay For Me!
I just joined 24 hour fitness!!! I'm so excited I can't stand it. We went for a tour tonight and it got me really excited to start working out. Jacob is so excited about the kids club there, he can't wait to go to it tomorrow. This should definitely help me reach my weight loss goals and just feel better in general.
I just took this picture of Jacob, don't worry the plunger has NEVER been used. It was part of Jacob's Halloween costume. He thinks it's super funny to stick out his tummy and suction cup the plunger to him.

I love this guy!
OK, I love David Archuleta!!! I can't wait to hear him on American Idol this week. I loved his performance last week, it gives me the chills every time I hear it. The link that I did have here not longer takes you to his video it has been taken down:(
The Biggest Loser (Take 2)
Right before the holidays a lady in our stake started the biggest loser for anyone who wanted to join. I was doing really good for a few weeks and then Thanksgiving came, then Christmas, needless to say I was NOT the biggest loser. Well I'm trying again, if at first you don't succeed try try again...right? Sherri Warren from my ward is starting it this time. You pay $25 and it is for 15 weeks. You weigh in every 3 weeks and if you have lost at least one pound you get $3 back with a chance to earn back $15 of the original $25. If you don't lose, or if you gain, or if you don't call in your weight on weigh in day you lose your money and it goes into the pot. Why did I explain all of this, maybe some of you would like to start it with some of your friends (not that any of my friends need to lose weight). So I'm ready to go this time, this extra baby weight and extra eat whatever I want weight is so going bye bye! So I thought for a little extra motivation I would include in my blog how much I am losing. It really helps me to be accountable for losing weight, like I am to the biggest loser program, if I don't lose weight or if I don't check in then I don't win or get any of my money back. Ashworth (Jacob's school and where I am working, in case some of you didn't know what I was talking about) is also doing the Biggest Loser. The informational meeting for it is on Thursday after school, I'm excited I don't know how they are going to do it but I'm going to join that one too. I figure if I'm going to lose weight then I will try and earn some money while I'm doing it. Blah blah blah, wish me luck!

I want to get out!!!
So right now I am listening to my son whining, "I want to get out!" After school today on the way to the store Jacob was being extremely difficult, I don't remember what started it, and for the way he was acting I told him he could sit on his bed for 5 min. when we got home. Of course that increased his bad behavior so I said now it's 10. He didn't like that too much either, now it's 15. Well it took him until 25 min. to figure out the more he argued the more time I was going to give him. Anyway, that was fun! Oh, and during all this I had called Kevin and he was really busy so I said just call me back when you get a chance. Off we went to Walmart and my phone was still on vibrate from me being at school. I didn't hear him calling. Well all he heard when I called is Jacob screaming in the background and he thought we had gotten disconnected. I was in the checkout line when I realized he was calling. He had gotten so worried, he thought we had gotten into a car accident, that he left work and drove home. We were not there, remember I'm still at Walmart. So I feel my purse vibrating and I pick it up and he is like, "where are you guys?" After I explained the situation all was well and he headed back to work. I looked at my phone afterwards and there were 10 missed calls from Kev and at home there were 3 messages on the phone. So why is my husband such a worrier? It could be because his store got robbed last night and he is a little worried. Luckily he was not there. He got a call at about 10 pm. He didn't pick it up immediately but listened to the voice mail a few minutes later. One of the employees was calling Kevin when the guys walked in and he just set the phone down and Kevin's voice mail recorded the whole thing. Crazy! Needless to say I was freaked out thinking that Kevin could have been there. I think we are both a little freaked out by it. Thankfully nobody was hurt!
