I take it back!
Ok, so in my last post I said that it wasn't that cold. Well on the way home tonight I had to stop at the grocery store and the gas station. IT WAS SO COLD!!! The wind was blowing which did not help the situation any! Well I am looking forward to the next few days. The bishop told Kev that he did not have any meetings tomorrow, that is so way cool, he gets to stay home with us in the morning. Kev has Monday and Tuesday off and doesn't have to be back to work until Wednesday night, that makes me super happy! I feel like a little kid, I can't wait to Christmas. I'm surprising Kevin this year, he usually knows what he is getting. It will also be so much fun to watch Jacob open up his gifts, he always gets so excited. I can't wait to see the expression on his face when he sees the bike Santa Clause brought him.
Christmas is almost here!!!
I love this time of year. I love the decorations, the shopping, the music at church, and teaching Jacob and the children in primary about the birth of our Savior. The only thing I wish is that it was a little colder around here. It's going to be in the 50's all week, I guess that's ok but I would like to have to wear a scarf and hat when I go out, that feels more like Christmas to me. Well the presents are all wrapped and ready to go and most of the baking is done. Tonight is our ward Christmas party and Primary Activity day combined so that should be fun and busy! I am so enjoying no school, no PTA, no homework, and no routine. We can just take a couple of weeks and be really laid back and kind of lazy, I know Jacob is really enjoying it!

Well I can't belive it is almost Halloween. Time sure does fly. After subbing for about 7 weeks strait I am now back to subbing a few days a week. I am enjoying some of the extra time, although, that extra time has turned into doing other things. Today is the Primary Program, I'm a little nervous but I've done all I can and I know that the children will do a wonderful job. I dreampt about it all night, they were not good dreams. Next on my agenda is making Jacob and Kevin's Halloween costumes. Jacob is going to be Mario and Kevin is going to be Luigi. Jacob is so excited! Everyone keeps asking me what I am going to be, uhhhh, I have no idea. The weather here is beautiful, I love this time of year. I could spend everyday outside. Let's see what else is new. Jacob can officially ride a two wheel bike, finally! We are pretty excited about that, hopefully we can now take some family bike rides. Kevin is enjoying his new job he has about 2 more weeks left at the training store and then he will go to a new store. It looks like it might be the one closest to our house! A five min. drive to work would be awesome. My sister Serene had her baby girl about 2 weeks ago, Sydney Anne, she is super cute. We are looking foward to the the holiday season. We moved into our house last year on December 23rd, so this will be our first Halloween and Thanksgiving in our own home and our first normal Christmas. Last year because we moved in two days before Christmas it was a little crazy. We will be doing Thanksgiving dinner at our house, I've never made a turkey before, it should be fun. Well I guess that's about it for now.

Well I made it through the first week of school. I really had a lot of fun teaching. My first grade class is so cute and fun. There are a few children who definitely try my patience but overall it was a great week. I am really getting attached and I think when this job is over in three weeks I will really miss the kids, I'll probably cry.
Jacob had a great week as well. He really likes his teacher and likes being a big first grader. He is reading which is so fun to see him do. He loves math, he asks me all the time to write down math problems to solve. He will start soccer again in a few weeks. He enjoys getting out on the field and running around.
Kevin is changing jobs he will give his two week notice this coming Thursday. He will be leaving Taco Bell and going to Arby's. We are really excited. Many of the things that he does not like about Taco Bell are different at Arby's, he is looking forward to the change. It also helps that his salary will increase!
We are excited for fall to come and for cooler weather. This summer has been pretty mild here compared to years past but I love fall and winter.

Summer Is Almost Over
We recently returned from our summer vacation. We went to Tennessee to visit Kev's brother and his family. We had a lot of fun. Tennessee is beautiful. When we got back Jacob and I went to California to visit my family. We went to the beach and hung out at the pool. The weather was perfect there. After spending so much time in the pool Jacob now says he is a "highly professional" swimmer! School starts in 2 weeks! I can't believe it. Jacob will be in 1st grade and he is so excited. We are ready for the summer heat to go away and to have some cooler weather. I'm excited to get back to subbing. I will be subbing a 1st grade class for the fist month of school so I will be right next door to Jacob. I'm used to subbing a class for a day or two not for an entire month, it should be fun, but a lot of work. We will be enjoying our last two weeks of summer by relaxing! We are having a boss day. Jacob has been asking to be the boss for an entire day. So on Saturday we have to do whatever he wants and he gets to be in charge. He is so excited about boss day, we'll see how it goes!

Summer is here!
Wow, I can't believe that we are already half way through June! Everything is going well for us.
Jacob is enjoying summer vacation. We are keeping busy going to the pool, playgroup, the library, and having fun with our friends. Every Wednesday this summer we will be going the movie theater they offer free movies for the kids, Jacob loves it. We will be going to Tennesse for a few days the last week of July and then Jacob and I will be going to California August 1st through the 8th. School starts later this year, August 27th. I will be substitute teaching for the first month or so of school for a first grade class at Jacob's school. One of the teachers will be on maternity leave. It should be fun! I figure I can do anything for a month. It is nice because I know all of the children already. I subbed for the different kindergarten classes a lot last year so I got to know all of the kids. Kevin is doing well at work his store is doing great, it is in the top 60 across the nation. He just got more blood work done and more MRI's and the doctor said that his tumor has significantly shrunken. We are so excited about that. They will test him again in a year to see how it is. He will have to continue to take the medication for the rest of his life, but we are grateful that he does not have to have surgery. I am staying busy. The stake asked me to go to girls camp and be the third year level leader. We went 2 weeks ago and it was a blast! I had so much fun. Being Primary President is keeping me busy, I feel so blessed to have this calling. The children are wonderful, it is so fun to watch them learn about the Gospel. I love to listen to them sing each Sunday they always make me cry. We are so thankful for all that our Heavenly Father blesses us with! We hope all of you are doing well and would love to hear from you. Take care!

Up Too Early
Wishing I was still asleep I am up early this Saturday morning. Jacob is up early! During the week I usually have to wake him up to get ready for school, but it is Saturday morning our day to sleep in and he gets up at 6:45, gotta love it! We are going to be very busy we have a lot on our to do list today. We are having Jacob's birthday party next Saturday so there is a lot to do to get ready for it. He is getting a swing set for his birthday so we have to ge pick one out and put it up, actually that is more Kev's job, it his on his list today along with mowing the lawn. We love owning a home but you sure do keep busy on the weekends with all there is to do. Only 4 more weeks of school, I can't believe my baby is going to be a first grader!!! I will be subbing for one of the 1st grade teachers for about the first month of school while she is on maternity leave. I'm excited, I think! It will be a lot of work but it is only for a month so it can't be that bad. I am looking foward to the summer. We will be going to California and to Tennesse. Jacob will be playing basketball through the YMCA with some of the boys from school, he is really excited. We will hopefully be speding a lot of time swimming and enjoying the warmer weather until July when it gets too hot and then all you want to do is stay inside. Well I better get to our "To Do" list. We hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

For Spring Break last month we went to the Bahamas! We had so much fun. We drove to Florida, a very long drive, but we got to see a lot of stuff. We went to New Orleans and saw the destruction left by the hurricanes and I could not believe how bad it still looks. There were block and blocks of houses that were completely destroyed. We drove to Ft. Lauderdale, FL to board the ship for the Bahamas. While there we did a lot of swimming on the beach and went snorkeling. Snorkeling was absolutely beautiful. After the Bahamas we went to Miami Beach and Key West. Then on the way home we went for a swamp boat tour in Louisiana and saw alligators, Jacob really loved that. Here are some of the pictures from our trip.

I'm a new Blogger!
Hello to everyone. I am really excited to have a family blog. My friend Jessica told me about this and I thought what a great idea to create this for our family. I hope to be able to keep it updated so that family and friends who are interested can log on and see what our family is up to.
