OK so this is kind of random but this is what I found in my kitchen sink a while back.
After I put the last glass in I realized that there was some symmetry. I thought it was kind of cool how that just happened.
Yesterday Jacob played in his first chess tournament yesterday for his school. It was a great day. Jacob won 2 matches, lost 2 matches, and had a bi on one. Pretty good for his first tournament. We were really excited for him and he had a great time. The tournament was for any elementary in the district and there were 13 schools who participated. This was the first year for his school to go. There were just over 400 kids there and 116 were from his school. Our school won the first place team trophy, it was awesome. I forgot my camera....ahhhhh. I had a friend take some pictures so I will post them when I get them. He woke up this morning saying he couldn't wait for next year.
OK one more thing this is a conversation Jacob and I had while he was getting ready for the tournament yesterday:
Me: "Jacob get clean underwear on."
Jacob: "OK but I have to wear my lucky underwear."
Me: "I didn't know you had lucky underwear."
Jacob: "I don't I'm just going to write lucky on my underwear today with a marker."
That kid cracks me up!

Let It Snow!
I started this post last weekend and then I got the stomach flu...it was horrible but I survived. So here a week late is my post.
Here in Arlington we were lucky to have almost a foot of snow on Thursday and Friday. For many this is no big deal, but here in Texas it is a BIG deal. Here are some pictures, you know I tend to post too many.

This was after school on Thursday. They cancelled school for Friday before we even left on Thursday.

Thankfully Kevin had bought me these rain boots earlier in the week they were great in the snow.

A real snow cone and a snow angel.

Some pictures of our yard and neighborhood.

Poor Jacob got the stomach flu first and was too sick to play in the snow on Friday and Saturday. We brought a chair out for him to watch Kevin build a snowman, he was sad that he was so sick. I knew he was really sick when he didn't want to play outside.

This is how he spent most of Friday and Saturday, notice the throw up pot, it was used a lot!

That is a ruler in our backyard on Friday morning, 10 inches of snow! Kevin and one of our neighbor kids built a snow fort, it lasted way after all of the other snow melted.
We loved it and wished we had that we had that more often around here. It is supposed to snow again on Tuesday. We love the snow!

Strep Throat
We're chillin' at home today. Jacob has strep but is feeling better. I was walking down the hallway yesterday at school and I see Jacob heading to the nurse with a pass. He didn't have a temperature but he felt so yucky. I took him to my room and had him lay down on a bean bag and he fell asleep right next to my desk, It was so cute, I wish I had taken a picture. We went to the doctor and he decided he did not want the shot so he opted for the pills that you have to chew and swallow. Ya, well he had one dose of that and threw it up. So I called the doctor and we went in this morning and he got a shot in the bum. I tried to convince him, I even bribed him in front of the doctor with ice cream to get the shot. I bet the doctor didn't like that very much but I knew the shot would be easier then nasty pills. Of course I was right. Anyway, I'm just glad my little guy is feeling better. So we are quarantined to the house today and tomorrow so I should be able to get a lot done, we'll see. I don't seem to be very motivated.

Wow, that is a lot of pictures!
I thought I would plug in my external hard drive and look for some old pictures of Jacob. These are my pre blogging days. The first several were scanned in so the quality is not the best. I plan on printing my blog one day so it would be nice to have these in it. I think I added too many, but what is a mom to do? Really there are a TON!

Lego Store
Last Tuesday we headed out to the Lego Store in Dallas. It is a dream store for little boys. Jacob loves it! The first Tuesday of every month is "build and take." Here are some pictures of the snowman Jacob (and Dad) built. So much fun!

After church today Kevin, Jacob, and I drove out to the cemetery. I love the drive out there, I love that it is in the country. Here are a couple of pictures. Jacob picked out the orange and yellow flowers in the vase. Every time we take new flowers out he wants to pick them. Kevin and I are not allowed to have much say :) My dad and Cheryl sent a beautiful heart bouquet of flowers. Every year on Breanna's birthday they have the most beautiful flowers delivered, I look forward to it. It means so much to Kevin and I. Courtney and Scott also take flowers every year, they are the bouquet on the left. We are so blessed to have such amazing family and friends.
Today is Breanna's birthday. Some how 3 years have passed. I miss her and continue to think of her every day. A couple of weeks ago we went to the Ft. Worth Museum of Science and History as a family. For a few minutes I was sitting on a bench people watching while I was waiting for Kev and Jacob to come back from somewhere. As I sat there I thought, as I often do, how our little family outing that day would be if Breanna was there. I thought about how Jacob would be showing his little sister around. How Kevin and I would be chasing her around everywhere. I am so thankful to have a testimony of eternal families. I truly do not know what I would do without the gospel in my life. I have never shared pictures of Breanna on my blog. I felt earlier this week that I wanted to post a picture of her. Kevin and I chose theese ones. This is the day of her funeral. We were able to hold her and spend some more time with her this day.

Mario Chess
Happy New Year one and all! I was talking to my friend Hilary today (love you Hil!) and she said she was going to try to post more often to her blog kind of like I want to do. She said even if it is just a picture. So here are two pictures I took today of my cutie playing Mario Chess. He's becoming quite a good little chess player. He joined the chess club at school and is LOVING it.

Today was our first day back to school. Although it was especially hard to get out of bed it was nice to go back (I think I just said that to convince myself that it is a true statement). Don't get me wrong I love my job and enjoy a routine but not getting dressed or not showering if I didn't want to was nice. I'm not one to ever skip a shower even on days off but over this vacation I did that a few times, sorry if I just grossed you out.
I always feel the need to end my blog with some kind of ending instead of just stopping when I am finished thinking of things to write. I think I need to get over that I don't have to sign off or say goodbye each time. So here's to just ending my posts.

Year In Review
January

January brought an ice day= day off from school.
February

Mavs game, I don't think this is actually in
February. I think it was January but if it
was then I don't have any pictures from
February so this one will have to do.
March

March brought us beautiful weather and a camping trip.
April

In April we attempted our first garden.
It grew really well but I think we put too
many seeds in, eventually it got overgrown.
This year we will do it again with a few
less seeds, I loved eating veges out of my garden.
May

In May our sweet boy turned 8 and
was baptized, it was a wonderful day!
June

Roadtrip to TN to see our sweet niece
Kendyl baptized.
July

My toothless Cub Scout.
August

1st day of 3rd grade
September

Jacob and Addyson on Addyson's baptism day.
This was actually in October but she turned
8 at the end of Sept. so I thought I could count
it for October, right?
October

Our scary pumpkin.
November

The day after Thanksgiving we put
up Christmas decorations, love it!
December

We had a white Christmas. By the time it was
done snowing we had almost 4 inches of snow.
Don't mind Kevin's pink gloves, he was borrowing
mine. I should have just let you think that he
likes to wear pink gloves.
2009 Was a great year and I'm sure that
2010 will be even better.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
